It helps to include your macOS version, the app version (MD Worktree ▸ About MD Worktree), and what you did, what you expected and what happened instead. A screenshot is welcome.
Getting started
On the welcome screen, click Create a Sample Project and choose a folder. MD Worktree makes a Sample Project folder there with example documents and opens it, so you can try everything without any files of your own. To use your own, click Add a project or drop a folder on the window. MD Worktree only ever sees folders you choose.
Questions
What do I need?
A Mac running macOS 26 or later.
What is free, and what is Pro?
The free app has unlimited reading, Quick Look previews, editing with autosave, up to three projects, and PDF, HTML, Markdown and plain-text export. Pro is a one-time purchase that adds unlimited projects, version history with restore, Word, Rich Text and image export, exporting a whole folder or project, Copy for AI with token counts, on-device AI actions and custom reading styles.
How does the 14-day trial work?
Start it from the purchase sheet. It unlocks the Pro features for 14 days from the day you start it, once per Apple Account. When it ends, the Pro features lock again until you buy Pro. Nothing is deleted: projects beyond the free three are locked, not removed.
I bought Pro and it is not unlocked.
Open the purchase sheet or Settings and choose Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought with. If that does not help, email us.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Is Pro shared through Family Sharing?
Not at the moment.
Where are my files? Does MD Worktree change them?
They stay in your folders, where they always were. MD Worktree changes a document only when you edit it (it autosaves as you work) or run an action you chose. Removing a project from the app does not delete any files.
Why does the app ask for network access?
macOS requires it for the web view that draws the preview. The app makes no network requests of its own. See the privacy policy.
A tool changed a file I was editing.
MD Worktree keeps your unsaved edits and shows a comparison: keep yours, take the file on disk, or merge them line by line. Nothing is overwritten silently.
